When visiting a country that doesn’t speak one’s native language, it might be helpful to memorize a few phrases that will make interacting with the locals easier. Greetings, asking for directions, and verbalizing gratitude will allow a person to have a basic conversation with locals that can come in handy, especially if one’s stay will last for a couple of days or weeks.
